The 10 most bizarre Gaming centers in history

Imagine that you’re browsing through your newly-purchased gaming console, and the first thing you see is a bunch of weird plastic that could possibly make playing video games more enjoyable

In the 1980s, there was a remarkable proliferation of unusual video game peripherals and controllers , and it’s a bit of a dying art nowadays, with manufacturers practicing the weird practice of making sensible and practical things

The Top Nintendo Controller Designs, Ranked & Recommended

With their dedication to innovation and hardware, which Nintendo console boasts the most superior controller design?

It’s not accurate to say that every company has stopped making bizarre decisions about their peripherals, but I thought I’d put my favorites in the hopes of getting more absurd items

These things are typically bizarre, but often have a clever idea and are enjoyable to view, even if they don’t offer any practical value. I settled on one entry per console and typically opted for my most peculiar preference

10. Dragon Quest Slime Controller

AS ticky Slope

Video Game Controllers - Slime

The sound of a controller with different functions for every major console is fairly typical The Dragon Quest Slime Controller’s unconventional shape makes it difficult to play almost anything with ease

Holding the silicone slime upside down, using the buttons and sticks at the bottom, is necessary to grip the sticky substance, which is not comfortable

The device is only a functional, standard controller that earns it extra points for being an absurd control made up of nonsense creature

Despite its recent appearance, it’s nice to see that Square Enix is willing to experiment with their hardware in a strange manner Their awful business decisions

9. Power Glove

Slightly Terrible

Image of the NES Power Glove taken from Wikipedia.

While you may find it enjoyable, I’d rather highlight the positive aspects of the Power Glove, rather than criticize its unsatisfactory controls and subpar software What would Nintendo’s next move be?

The glove is unnecessary, in addition to other items This was basically a big controller that you could wear and use the motion controls on one hand to allow you to play your games at your leisure

Video games have featured iconic artists like Burt Reynolds, Conan O’ Brien, and David Bowie

The same idea was carried on with the Wii Remote and Joy-Cons on the Switch, and although Nintendo never held a board meeting where they would abandon the Power Glove, it does have some similarities

The idea was not without its peculiarity, despite being considered a respectable effort and cool

8. Gamebike

Limited Mobility

The picture was taken at Retro Gaming of Denver

This is a nonsensical situation for me. The Gamebike is a fitness bike that can be connected to games to improve your health and well-being, but it’s extremely uninspired

It requires wires, and its main advantage is the presence of a controller between the handlebars The price is the same and it’s usually a bit less than other exercise bikes, so I don’t think it matters much

With something like Wii Fit , it’s a bit odd, but it’s supported by enough games and unique enough to feel worthwhile, whereas a Gamebike gives you a slightly worse experience than a normal exercise bike

You can either buy a stationary bike, position it in front of your TV, or use whichever handheld console you prefer, and play any type of game while working out. It appears to be a more intricate approach to attain the same outcome

7. Booster Boy

Clunky and Unsightly

Image of the Booster Boy, an add-on for the Game Boy.

The original Game Boy The Booster Boy was an effort to address some of the issues it caused, but its size and usability make it almost non-functional over the default option

The Game Boy is enclosed in a massive plastic case, and the buttons are made large enough to accommodate the D-Pad, which functions as an analog stick , which feels like a completely useless addition

In addition to its primary function, it provides a magnifying glass, light, speakers, weight, and battery usage that makes it an unsuitable device for handheld use

The Game Boy’s transformation into a “thin and fancy” gaming device, while still being incredibly fragile and potentially harmful, is reminiscent of the 90s video Game genre

6. Wii Speak

Game and Shout

Image of the Wii Speak accessory taken from Wikipedia.

The association with Nintendo regarding online Voice Chat has always been bizarre, and although Microsoft and Sony had it figured out by the late 2000s, the company’s position remains unchanged Wii Nintendo tried something unusual with Speak

A tangible item was designed to be positioned beside your TV, and depending on your setup, you needed to shout over the game audio to see anything clearly

The bizarre attempt to communicate was made for 13 games and typically resulted in people shouting at each other with subpar microphones , making it a complete nightmare to listen to

The Wii U’s built-in Microphone was not as popular and the voice chat feature necessitated the use of a parallel outlet for phone and Switch connections. These “unique” solutions are still being employed instead of allowing headset usage

5. Nintendo Labo

Cardboard Machinations

Image of the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit, featuring the Piano, House, Motorcycle and Fishing sets, Taken from a Nintendo promotional image.

The four sets of Nintendo Labo Released before the project’s final break, these releases were cool and underwhelming, but they were not well-received by the target audience that the Switch was aiming for

The first set was A distinctive assortment of games that you could complete in 10 minutes after building the set for 30 more minutes , which left a bad taste in many people’s mouths, despite the clear potential of a Lego-esque gaming experience

Creating cardboard crafts was an enjoyable experience, with hands-on tutorials, and the V RS et was compatible with multiple games Virtual Reality: Breath of the Wild

The V RS et’s lack of adoption has caused a slight letdown in the series, and even though some of the earlier sets were somewhat dapper, I can confidently say that they were enjoyable and difficult to store

4. Game Gear T VT uner

Pathetic Signal

Closeup shot of the Game Gear TV Tuner addon, taken from Sega Retro.

The idea of watching satellite TV on a small, low-res screen with only an hour of battery life has never crossed your mind Game Gear There is a reason why T VT uner exists

The Game Gear’s performance is unremarkable at a crisp 140p and the TV tuner consumes more battery power than usual, making it surprisingly disappointing

The allure of using your portable system to watch your favorite shows is undeniable. The Game Gear-exclusive and satellite channel limitation heavily degrades it

It’s almost non-functional now, and Sony made an effort to replicate this on the PSP, but it didn’t work out the same way , with far too weak a signal and far too small a screen to be an enjoyable experience

3. Xbox 360 Kinect

Let’s Get Moving

Image of the Xbox 360 Kinect taken from Wikipedia.

Microsoft decided to take a risk by showing off the Wii’s motion controls and creating something that would be both practical and innovative Kinect , and it’s barely usable

While the Wii Remote and Playstation Move made gaming more enjoyable due to their motion controls, the former is less effective The Kinect requires you to be centered in a large room and stand up all the time

Even in the most ideal conditions, the menus are dreadfully unreachable and fail to acknowledge your input for half of the time. The tracking is so inadequate that I can’t recall ever experiencing its intended results for a long time

While the Kinect was once a cutting-edge gaming device, its VR capabilities made it more appealing

2. The Onimusha 3 Demon Siege Katana Controller

You Are Already Dead

The Onimusha 3. Not only is the name “Demon Siege Katana Controller” the longest in existence, it’s also a standard Controller that mixes up humor and practicality, with all the buttons located on katanans

The control scheme is ludicrous, featuring six small buttons, the left button, D-Pad, and right stick, all presented in a single line , which is as uncomfortable to use as you’d imagine

1. D KB ongos

You Know It Well

The D KB ongos are While it’s similar to the Slime Controller, this device is only designed for one game and has a bongo-like shape Donkey Kong Jungle Beat , but somehow works on most other games
